COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Full-time 2 year contract position | Newcastle

An exciting role has opened up with Compassion Australia for a brilliant writer and experienced project manager to serve as Communications Manager for a full-time, 2 year contract position.

The Communications Manager will lead a team of writers and media specialists in the development and implementation of a communications and media strategy to build awareness of Compassion’s ministry among both current and future supporters.

Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Communications Manager’s role will include:

  • Developing the communications and PR strategy and analysing effectiveness
  • Maintaining the quality and integrity among all Compassion Australia communication collateral, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all channels
  • Display a sound understanding and application of the English language and the ability to write and construct compelling yet sensitive material
  • An excellent understanding of all communication channels, particularly digital, and how they engage stakeholders, our target audience and broader community
  • Industry-standard proof-reading skills and ability to work to a corporate style guide
  • Conceptualising, writing and editing press releases, feature articles, fundraising appeals, and publications
  • Ability to write high quality, engaging copy for fundraising purposes
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Communications Team, building a collaborative culture through effective coaching and empowerment
  • Ability to think, act and work quickly across a variety of projects and be able to engage stakeholders across the organisation

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in either communications, journalism, PR or Marketing
  • Prior experience in a marketing, communications and public relations role
  • Experience in print production and direct mail for fundraising purposes
  • Demonstrated proficient computer skills, including a thorough knowledge of digital channels
  • Able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and delegate among staff effectively
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills with the ability to meet workflow requirements

COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Full-time 12-month contract position | Newcastle

Compassion Australia is looking for a brilliant communicator with public relations and digital experience to join its Communications Team for a full-time, 12 month contract position.

The successful applicant will participate in all functions of the Communications Team, including writing and editing magazine and newsletter articles, video and phone scripts, radio advertisements, direct mail copy, digital writing, donor proposals and reports, brochures and proofing and approving a range of promotional materials.

They will be an active Christian, highly adaptable and a team-player who is ready for a new challenge. Essential criteria include:

  • Bachelor degree in communications, English and/or journalism, or equivalent experience
  • Two to three years’ proven experience in their respective field
  • Attention to detail, strong proofreading/editing skills and exceptional interpersonal skills

PRODUCT MANAGER

Full-time 2 year contract position | Newcastle

Compassion Australia is looking for a brilliant marketer to join its Product Team for a full-time, 2 year contract position.

The Product Manager develops and implements marketing initiatives for the effective promotion of Compassion’s programs.

You will be responsible for working cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders to drive supporter acquisition and retention for a specific product portfolio.

The successful candidate will be an active Christian with a heart for the poor, highly adaptable and a team player, and has:

  • The ability to generate and implement marketing initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders
  • Exemplary planning, administrative and project management skills
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing or business, or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing theories and principles
  • Substantial experience in marketing, business or communications
