Government Breaks Promise to the World’s Poor
On Tuesday, May 8, the Australian Government officially broke its promise to increase foreign aid, from 0.35 per cent to 0.38 per cent, in the 2013 Federal Budget. This news is devastating; it is expected to result in an up to $3 billion loss to foreign aid over the next four years, impacting hundreds of thousands of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable – including countless children.
