The Church, Their Future
Every single one of Compassion’s child development centres in 26 of the world’s poorest countries is operated by and based in a local church. Why? Because the Church is the instrument God chose to bring hope and justice to a world shackled by poverty and oppression. And no one can understand the real needs of a community and its children, or offer them the chance to experience God’s love and acceptance, like a local church. But God is working to transform the lives of children living in poverty through churches right here in Australia too.
St Paul’s Anglican Church in Castle Hill, Sydney first began their journey with the poor almost two decades ago, when God called them to connect with a ministry in Kenya. Since then, their partnership has touched lives on both sides of the world in ways they could hardly have imagined.
