Our client, Compassion Australia is an international Christian child development and child advocacy organisation which helps release children from extreme poverty in over 25 developing countries.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer provides the vision and leadership in helping Compassion Australia fulfill its God given mandate to release children from extreme poverty in developing countries.
The Board is seeking to appoint a gifted leader to both build on the solid foundation already in place and to bring with them their own set of unique skills and talent to this exciting role. You will provide Godly leadership to the Executive Team and, in cooperation with the Board and Executive staff, develop a strategic plan for the ministry based on their vision, for the long term, sustainable growth of the organisation.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven and successful track record in a key senior management role where they have effectively built and developed highly effective teams. You will be an astute servant leader who is strongly aligned to the values of this leading Christian organisation and who has the ability to influence others, to facilitate change and build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will possess excellent people skills, have the ability to effectively motivate and develop a great team, and have the unique ability to cast and impart vision.
Your knowledge and understanding of the Christian landscape in Australia will be vital to this role as will be your willingness to travel internationally.

Accounting Clerk
Full time, contract | immediate start | Newcastle based
Reporting to the Accounting Specialist, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for processing payments, entering data into accounting software, reconciling petty cash expenditure, corporate credit cards and payments for BAS, as well as assisting in other day-to-day operations of the accounting team.
The successful applicant will be an active Christian with a heart for the poor, who is humble and teachable, and has:
- TAFE Certificate IV in Accounting (or a willingness to complete)
- Experience communicating with suppliers and sponsors/customers
- The ability to effectively plan and organise personal daily work routines
- The ability to accurately reconcile totals and records

Administrative Assistant
Full time (part time would be considered), four-month contract | immediate start | Newcastle based
Compassion Australia is looking for an experienced administrative assistant to join its Child Advocacy team for a period of four months.
The successful applicant will provide efficient and effective administrative assistance to the Child Advocacy Department.
They will be an active Christian, who has significant initiative and is a team-player. Essential criteria include:
- Demonstrated experience in the performance of general administrative duties
- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and meet associated deadlines
- Excellent written and communication skills, including outstanding telephone, email and interpersonal manner
- Ability to work quickly and accurately
- Familiarity with Social Media, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, blogs, YouTube (including uploading video)would be an advantage
