New book features Compassion: Love In Action

Compassion supporters Stuart Harris and Jim Collins set off to Manado in 2007 with a desire to help people in poverty. It was to be a journey they would never forget and in July 2009, the duo of photographer and writer released Love In Action, a powerful photo documentary book of the people they met and the profound difference that a single community can make if they put their mind to it.

Compassion in Manado

Compassion has 90 child development centres operating in the Manado region, including 13 in Manado itself. Each provides children with Christian teaching, learning opportunities, healthcare, nutritious foods and so much more, addresses spiritual, economic, physical, social and emotional poverty. The Manly-Manado Community Partnership focuses its support on six child centres purposefully chosen to have urban, coastal and rural impact, as well as a Child Survival Program which cares for 35 babies and their caregivers.
