Tim's Blog: The Gift Of Jesus

“But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favour with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end’.”—Luke 1:30-32

Christmas is much more than a time to decorate our homes and have a meal with family if your Christmas is anything like mine. As it says in James 1, ‘every good and perfect gift is from above’ and Christmas is a time to remember and give thanks for the perfect Christmas gift: Jesus.

His Kingdom will never end. What a wonderful reminder at this time of year that not only did God send His one and only son Jesus to Earth to die for our sins, but that His Kingdom will never end.

One of the things I love about Compassion’s program is that we are Christ-centred. This means across the 26 countries we work in, every child in our programs has the opportunity to hear about the love of Christ. What a gift it is to know Jesus and have a personal relationship with Him. I encourage you to share with your sponsored child the wonderful gift of Jesus whenever you write to them.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support this year. Thank you for your generosity in giving, praying, caring for, and loving the children in Compassion’s programs. It is my hope that as we move into 2016 we will continue to see more children released from poverty in Jesus’ name.

I wish you a blessed Christmas.
