How long until I receive a letter in reply from my sponsored child?
Thank you for sending a message of love and encouragement to your sponsored child. Your words have significant impact in a child’s life, helping them to feel valued.
Usually, you’ll usually receive a reply two to four months after your sponsored child receives your letter, but this timeframe varies from country to country.
There are several factors that may affect letter delivery including:
- Translation and processing times
- The remote location of some child development centres
- Irregular local mail systems
- Unexpected natural disasters or other crises
- Extreme weather events
- Government guidelines during health crises such as COVID-19
Sponsored children generally write two letters to their sponsors each year as well as up to six additional replies to your letters to them. That means the more often you write, the more letters you’re likely to receive.
If you receive a letter from your sponsored child shortly after writing and it doesn’t mention your most recent message, bear in mind that it could have been written before they received your latest letter.
