What is the maximum age that a child remains in the Child Sponsorship Program?

The maximum age at which a sponsored child can participate in the Compassion’s programs varies.

In Asia (Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand), the maximum age for participation in the program is generally 20 years old.

In Africa (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Togo and Uganda), the maximum age is generally 22 years old.

In South and Central America, the maximum participation age is generally 22 years old, except in the Dominican Republic (20), Guatemala (18) and Nicaragua (18).

However, young people sometimes graduate from the Child Sponsorship Program earlier than the maximum age, depending on their education, family and financial situation and their personal circumstances.
