Compassion Magazine: Welcome to Asia
Compassion Magazine is here and this time it’s all about Asia. Come along for an adventure of stories starting in India, visiting Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia on the way before finishing in the Philippines.

Since 1968, Asia—particularly South and Southeast Asia—has held a special place in the hearts of Compassion supporters.
That was the year we first began working with local churches in India and Indonesia, and in the almost five decades since, we’ve added offices in East India and East Indonesia, and begun work in Bangladesh, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
Now, more than 406,000 children, students, caregivers and babies are registered with Compassion’s programs in these six countries: living in tiny villages and sprawling cities; speaking one language or five; walking, riding a bike or catching a bus to school; playing with friends and siblings; finding the support and love they need to be released from poverty.
Every one of them holds intrinsic worth in the eyes of God. Every one of them is known, loved and protected. Every one of them has a story to tell.
Sit with us for a while, and share some of them.
This content was correct at the time of publishing. Compassion closed its programs in India on 15 March 2017 and no longer works in that nation.
