It’s that time of year when you sit down to write a special Christmas message to your sponsored child. But just as the pandemic has changed our lives in so many ways this year, it has also changed how we can send Christmas letters.

The COVID-19 pandemic has not spared the ones we serve, and every country Compassion works in has been impacted by the crisis. One of these impacts is that most field countries are experiencing delays in delivering sponsor letters to children.

Sadly, this means that we can’t guarantee that your Christmas letter will reach your sponsored child in time for Christmas.

But we all know the incredible value of letters—words of love and encouragement and prayers create a special connection between children and sponsors all over the world.

So, rather than developing a Christmas letter template this year, our team have designed a new letter template available now in My Account.

Your letters have an impact

While we don’t know when your letter will reach your sponsored child, we do know that when it does, they will be filled with joy and encouragement as they read it.

Just like six-year-old Kenenisa from Ethiopia is filled with joy every time he receives a special letter.

“When he receives a new letter, he won’t rest until I have read it to him,” says Kedir, Kenenisa's father.

“Sometimes, I read it to him over and over again and he never gets tired of it.”
