With an understanding of what Jesus has done for us, we are assured of God's love in everything we do. Through Him, we can face every circumstance with hope in His greater plan for us.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. —John 3:16

Leaning on the hope we receive through Jesus helps us strengthen our faith, empowering us to bear fruit in every area of our lives.

What the Bible Says about Hope

Hope helps us to trust in God's plan for our lives

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." —Jeremiah 29:11

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people. —Ephesians 1:18

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. —Philippians 1:6

God blesses those who trust in Him

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. —Isaiah 40:31

Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord —Psalm 31:24

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. —Jeremiah 17:7

What the Bible Says about Hope

We are given hope by the power of the Holy Spirit

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. —Romans 15:13

And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. —Romans 5:5

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead —1 Peter 1:3

With hope and trust, God gives us rest

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" —Matthew 11:28

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure —Psalm 16:19

You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety —Job 11:18

Hope allows us to patiently wait on the Lord

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I will wait for God my Saviour; my God will hear me. —Micah 7:7

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. —Psalm 130:5

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. —Hebrews 11:1
