Sponsor a Child
Every child is special, uniquely made
by God.
Poverty looks different, but the goal for each child stays the same: good health, good skills, good relationships—and the opportunity to hear the Good News.
How it Works
There’s nothing better than knowing you’re making a real difference in the life of a child living in poverty. Here’s how.

1
Choose a child
Choose the child you’d like to connect with and become their sponsor. Each week, they’ll attend a program centre run by the local church to learn, grow, play and develop in a loving, safe community.

2
Build a relationship
Get to know your sponsored child through letter writing. It’s quick and easy to write online—and letters have a powerful effect. If a face-to-face friendship is more your thing, travel with Compassion to visit in person!

3
Change a life
Your support gives a child life-changing opportunity to develop spiritually, socio-emotionally, physically and economically. It’s a relationship more powerful than poverty—changing their life and yours!
Your Sponsorship in Action
From $48 per month, your sponsored child will receive:

Healthcare, hygiene training and supplementary food
Children receive a healthy snack or meal when they attend program activities and may receive extra nutritious food if required. They receive regular health check-ups and learn how to take care of their bodies and form healthy relationships.

Age-appropriate Christian teaching and discipleship
In a culturally sensitive way, children are given the opportunity to hear the gospel message. They learn how God has shown his love for the world by sending Jesus Christ, and how He has a plan and purpose for their lives.

Education, vocational training and life skills
Children in our program are supported to attend and stay in school. They also receive vocational training opportunities and extra-curricular activities such as sports, field trips, music and computer training.

Personal attention, guidance and love
Our local church partners love and care for the children in our program, encouraging them to discover their unique gifts, passions and abilities. They’ll also get to know the child’s family, offering additional support where needed.
A Word from Compassion Graduates

“Compassion gave me the best things I’ve ever had. They gave me love, hope and the opportunity to dream and overcome.”
JOSE FRANK MONTERO

“My life is true confirmation that God has a plan for each one of us and has mysterious ways to fulfil the plan. The way God used sponsors through Compassion to transform my life is one of those mysteries.”
CHRISTINE UWASE

“If not for Compassion, I may not have seen that God is true and sovereign, and that there is hope. Something bad happened to me, but God turned it into good.”

SPONSOR A CHILDFor every $1 donated

“Our family has a connection with the sponsored kids and feel that we have been able to contribute to their physical and spiritual needs as a family. This hasn’t been a conceptual or generalised contribution either; we’ve been able to pray for a name and a child and look at their photo.”
COLIN BUCHANAN, NSW

“Given the chance to sponsor a child through Compassion, Bridget, has changed me as a person who believes that there is still softness in this world, that kindness and compassion still conquers above hatred and anger. A little act of kindness goes a long way.”
NAOMI, BALI

“Comfort Osaah has widened my perspective to beyond that of my own life. Problems that once consumed me seem ridiculous in light of a young life who has so little, and yet prays for me, and is radically changed by my modest financial support. Thank you Jesus.”
MOLLY, NSW

“Lately we have been shown that financially God will always provide as we need, and this has encouraged us to be bolder in our generosity to those around us—and what a great opportunity to help a child in need!”
EUNJI AND ANDREW, NSW

“After sponsoring and then meeting Rita and Theresa I realised it's not about changing the whole world - just doing what I can to change SOMEONE'S whole world. And that can impact far more than I think we will ever realise. Praise God for His work through Compassion.”
